She Should Not Have Closed The Lid

Abstract cat art

This is another surreal piece and I think it was meant to be for one of my sisters. Hello Mary

As a young man I and my best man Bob went on a sort of working holiday to the Far East mainly Singapore and Malaysia. Friends from university lived there and we were sort of visiting them/helping them out. We had a fabulous time and were treated like princes.

The trip was all done on a shoestring and for some unfathomable reason the trip did not have my parents blessing. My sister and brother-in-law were very kind and gave me money for the trip. This picture was I think a way of saying thank you. Well it has her name in it. The only problem with this story is that the painting Allegory was given to her as the gift.

I can only assume I had a bit of a senior moment BUT I was only 20 or so then. So as usual I don’t really know what on earth is going on.

The painting has recently been restored.
