This is another straight forward commission. The patron wanted me to paint a picture of his car. His stipulation was that he would like a better background than the front of his house. He asked for and I quote “… a scenic vista”.
So I gave him this landscape. The background is I think Castle Stalker. This was chose partly for puerile reasons and there is an element of sarcasm in my choice.
The patron was so pleased with the piece that I felt a twinge of shame at my misguided sense of superiority and still do.
Luckily when I painted it it was very sunny so I got a good tan from the project.
